Behavior:

It is rather active and mostly moves on the sand. In order to catch its prey it digs intself in the sand so that its mouth and the tube still protrude, but the shell is invisible. As soon as a snail comes close, it leaves its hide-away, sticks its tube into the snail's aperture and eats it. In general, only the innards are left over.

However, it also follows the slime trail of its prey and actively hunts them down.

In this photo the two "tubes" of Anentome helena can be seen very nicely. No. 1 serves as locating organ, No.2 is the tube with which the prey is sucked out, here it is clearly pink during the feeding process.

Live food – snails, as well as dry food

Socialisation:

with dwarf shrimp, gastropods and fish

Additional information:

Does well in medium hard water, also ok in softer water.
